I began my life-changing journey to yoga in 1996. My husband had just died and I was busy raising my two young children and dealing with their sorrow. My life was spinning out of control when my personal physician suggested that I give yoga a try, particularly to help deal with post-traumatic stress syndrome. I was amazed, moved and delighted after my first class. I knew at that moment this was the “medicine” I needed, which soon turned into a life practice. I received my training in Santa Barbara in 2000 at Let it Go Yoga. I soon realized that I wanted to take yoga into the workplace and soon founded Balance Works. This is a program I designed to take yoga into the workplace, offering people all the advantages of this ancient, healing practice right when and where they need it the most. Balance Works provides a proactive approach to employee wellness. The result of this healing program within the workplace is an overall effectiveness that’s unparalleled. The moves I teach are simple and can be done at work, a hotel room, the airport, just about anywhere. This practice has been proven time and time again to reduce stress and the effects from chronic illness, creating a sense of renewed wellness, enhanced clarity, creative thinking and improved communication skills.
In addition, I continue to teach traditional Hatha yoga classes in Sacramento, California. I am the mother of two grown, lovely children. My hobbies include making jewelry, cooking, gardening and hanging with family and friends.
